Primal Roots Red Blend (5 out of 5)

Oh boy, this is my NEW favorite red wine! I think I got it simply because I had never heard of it, and it reminded me of “Primal Scream” (the practice of, the excellent Motley Crue song, and the band with Mr. Bobby Gillespie as its lead. All three? I am huge fans). No matter that the name of the wine is Primal Roots, which then led me to think of “Roots” by Sepultura (you can’t win with my taste in music). The label is elegant and understated; dark with crimson lettering. The wine itself? Similar in color to the lettering on the label.

Immediately, upon looking at it, it looks like a Pinot Noir would (the color). The fragrance is mild and not overpowering; I smell a lot of luscious fruit in this bottle. The blend itself is Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel. I think the last wine I had with that unbeatable combination was the Kendall-Jackson that D
got me hooked on last year. This has a very sweet, mellow, and nice fruity flavor. It’s not overpowering for a blend, and it’s also not short on flavor, nor do you have a nasty aftertaste, as there often is with a blend of Merlot and Syrah with anything. I can definitely taste accents of boysenberry, black currant, cherries, blackberries, and a little bit of vanilla. Considering the alcohol content is 13.5%, this stuff should fuck your shit up. Not at all! It’s like mellowship slinky (RHCP, forgive me for using your song title. It’s the first thing that popped in my head). Goes down smooth, stays smooth, and as I said, you don’t have the taste of vinegary dirt in your mouth when you’re done drinking it. It’s a pleasant experience; this wine. I urge you to buy it, drink it, and recommend it. I found it at Jewel for $8.99; when I went to Trader Joe’s the other day, they had it also, so you likely can find it at other stores as well. I recommend you doing what you can to find it. It’s well worth the hunt!

About generationgbooks

I read a ridiculous amount of books in a ridiculously quick amount of time. I read everything- fiction, history, sports, political science, fantasy, young adults, kids, romance- everything. I have worked in books almost half of my life now, and I never get bored with them. I need an outlet for books, where I can reach many people who may or may not give a fig about my opinions. I'm kind of known for rambling about books, so I figure it's about time I get off my lazy ass and take it to the blogosphere, where I have had the great luck of meeting many wonderful people inflicted with this book-disease. Personal stuff? Not much. I work too much, I'm single so I have more time to deal with this and less to deal with BS. I'm a die-hard Duranie and 80's fan. I am way too entertained with social media and astrology(for those of you who give a fig, I'm a Capricorn, or the sexier description- a seagoat.) for mine and the world's- own good. Only insanity can result from me blogging. That said, here goes!
